About Author
Dr. Jamāl Aḥmed Bashier Bādī, currently, lives in Malaysia with his family. He is a Professor at the Department of General Studies at the International Islāmic University of Malaysia (IIUM). Currently, he is the Director of the International Students’ Division, IIUM.
He specializes in Islāmic ʼaqīdah, Islāmic daʼwah, and Islāmic thought.
Dr. Jamāl was born and raised in Libya, and currently resides in Malaysia. He earned a B.S. in Science along with a Minor in Psychology from Portland State State, USA in 1982.
Thereafter, he continued his education in Madīnah al-Munawwarah Islāmic University, Saudi Arabia where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in Usūluddīn and Daʼwah. He went on to further his studies at Madīnah University obtaining his Master’s degree in 1990, and then his Doctorate in in Usūluddīn in 1994, both with honors.
Since that time, Dr. Jamāl has been involved in teaching numerous university courses spanning different Islāmic disciplines across three different universities in fiqh, ḥadīth, Qurʹān, daʼwah, comparative religion, among others. He has supervised PhD and Master Degree students in their research and study. He has been involved in numerous academic publications and conferences within and outside of Malaysia.
He is the author of the book “Creative Thinking: An Islamic Perspective”, which is in its sixth edition.
