How To Approach and Understand The Quran

Many of the Companions would say that if a person wants to know about his relationship with Allah then he should look at his relationship with the Quran. Many Muslims are eager to bridge the gap between themselves and the Quran but unfortunately many of us do not take the correct approach in doing so.

In this work, the author Jamaal Zarabozo has attempted to bridge the gap between Muslims and the Quran. The author expounds upon the nature of the Quran and the reality of the Muslims responsibility toward it. He also studies the effect that the Quran had upon the first generation of Muslims and attempts to answer why the Quran does not seem to have the same miraculous effect today.

The book discusses how many Muslims currently approach the Quran. Then it goes on to discuss the how the Quran should be approached and the main teachings of the Quran. This book aims to focus the mind so that we may contemplate on the Quran with the right objectives in mind, hence attaining maximum benefit from both recitation and contemplation.

The work also offers a lengthy discussion of the proper sources of tafseer or Quranic commentary.

Jamaal al-Din M. Zarabozo, born in 1960, is a Spanish parented, French-born, and American based Islamic scholar, lecturer, and author of numerous books on Islam and speaker of many lectures on Islam.

He is an internationally known writer and speaker who has lectured in North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
