The Final Words of the Scholars at the Onset of Death is an English translation of the Arabic work وَصَايَا العُلَمَاءِ عِنْدَ حُضُوْرِ الموت / Wasāyā Al-'Ulemā 'Inda Hudhur Al-Mawt , compiled by al-Ḥāfiẓ ibn Zabr al-Rabi, an erudite érudit de Hadith du quatrième siècle Hijri.

Al-Dhahabī a dit dans Tadhkirat al-Ḥuffāẓ : « [Il était] l'érudit hāfiẓ et auteur Abū Sulaymān, le muḥaddith de Damas et le fils de son juge. Ibn Zabr a dit: 'Abū Jaʿfar al-Ṭaḥāwī a passé en revue certains des travaux que j'ai écrits et il a été impressionné. Il m'a dit : 'Ô Abū Sulaymān, ceux de ton acabit (c'est-à-dire les érudits du hadith) sont les chimistes et ceux de notre acabit (c'est-à-dire les érudits du fiqh) sont les médecins.'' »

Al-Kattānī a déclaré: «Beaucoup ont raconté de lui et il a dicté dans le Jāmiʿ Masjid. Il était un narrateur de thiqah, noble et fiable. Il est l'auteur d'un livre intitulé al-Wafiyāt qui était célèbre sur les langues. Abū Naṣr ibn al-Jabbān a raconté qu'Ibn Zabr lui avait dit qu'il avait vu Allah, l'Exalté, pendant son sommeil et il a mentionné qu'il n'avait vu qu'une lumière.

ʿAbd al-Ḥay ibn al-ʿAmād al-Ḥanbalī a dit dans Shadharāt al-Dhahab : « Les morts de 379h : D'eux était Abū Sulaymān ibn Zabr, il était un muḥaddith, un ḥāfiẓ, un narrateur de thiqah et un individu très vénéré. Il est l'auteur d'un certain nombre d'œuvres bénéfiques.
