This book is an English translation and a brief explanation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Al-Baqarah based on authentic Tafseer works by Salim Morgan, an American Muslim convert and a graduate from faculty of Shariah of Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University, Riyadh.

Many available English translations of the Quran are of diminished usefulness for gaining understanding of the Arabic language because of the large amount of parentheses and extra words and phrases inserted into the translated text. Hence, this translation approach has been avoided by the author. Moreover, the common complain of numerous English speaking Muslims regarding most available English translations of the Quran is the lack of correlation between the large number of English words on one side of the page and the original Arabic they purport to translate on the other side. The inquisitive Muslim wants to know foremost exactly what Allah SWT said in the Quran.

The author's primary objective in translating words of Allah SWT is to reflect as much meaning in English as it would have been understood by the Arabic speakers to whom it was first given, while being careful not to introduce anything that is not explicitly there in the original Arabic words of the Quran. If some additional information is needed in order to address any ambiguity or to reflect what is known regarding meaning and explanation of a verse, for example as taught by the Prophet (Sallalahu Alayhe Wassalam), by way of example, explanation or clarification, the author has placed it in the explanation which follows the translation. This makes the reading experience much easier and more like what an Arabic speaker experiences when reading the actual words of Allah SWT. This is especially useful to one learning Arabic who makes use of the Quran with translation for learning.
