Muhammad b. al-Husayn said:
A sign that Allah wants good for a person is that the individuals tread this path: The Book of Allah, the Sunan of the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Sunan of his Companions and those who followed them in goodness; and to what the imams of the Muslims were upon in each land up until the latter scholars such as al-Awaz’i, Sufyan al-Thawri, Malik bin Anas, and al-Shafi’i, Ahmad b. Hanbal, al-Qasim b. Sallam and those were upon the same path as theirs. Furthermore, that they abandon every doctrine denounced by these scholars.
